The Call Has Come

After a long wait for the mail to arrive, it finally came about 2:30 p.m. Brayden had been anxious all day with a number of text messages and calls wondering if the mail had come yet.

When school got out, he called again and it still hadn't arrived and he was on his way home. It arrived about 10 minutes after our call. I left the package in the mail and went to grab the camera. As he arrived home, he started towards the house, not even going to the mail box. As he caught a glimpse of me with the camera, he lit up and ran towards the mail box. He was so excited!

When that white envelope comes, it is such an overwhelming mix of emotions. Where he's going, when he's going, the treasure that has been talked about and thought about his entire life. Brayden has so looked forward to this day, and wow, it's here!

His friends Zach and Jake were with him. They all decided to help kill the waiting time for the opening by going to play some dunk ball.

The announcement was posted that Brayden would be opening his call at 6 p.m. Family and friends came and gathered....

He has been called to the
Argentina Buenos Aires South Mission
He will report to the Provo MTC on October the 19th.

Well, here we go again! I can hardly believe it. It seems like just yesterday when I started another blog (Ryan's) in a very similar fashion.

This Sunday, May 15th, Brayden is 120 days out from turning 19. His papers will be officially turned in as of then and we should be receiving word within the next couple of weeks.

It's been an interesting time for Brayden. He is in the midst of wrapping up his senior year and also being diligent in starting his preparations for his mission. It's quite a lot of "life changing" experiences happening all at once.

He is ready for the challenge. He actually would have been thrilled if his call had come when Ryan received his.... he is very anxious and excited to go and serve the Lord. I can hardly believe it. So we will patiently wait for his call to arrive. In the meantime, please "comment" as to where you think he might go??
